I had a 332 in an F750, lionhearted sucker it was. Two-gear drive on the cam, reverse rotation. The truck heads had large-diameter stem sodium filled valves, and yeah, the 332 was a 4V Holley. Didn't have the upper-end oiling problems of the smaller Y-block. Didn't have the oddball sound of the Y-block, but didn't sound like an FE either. Pretty heavy, almost like a Chebbie. There was also a smaller version, 302 I believe?
