More on the Commander 42 SF

The nicest example I've seen of the Commander 42 Sport Fisherman is John Even's boat, photos of which have been posted on this site. John's boat changed my mind on which of the 42's I like best - now I like the 74-84 boats better than the later ones. I especially like John's boat because it has the 8V71TI Detroits.

For some more info on the 42SF from McKnew & Parker's Buyer's Guide to Sportfishing Boats:

Good info Bill, thanks.

I met John last August, very personable guy, and his boat is in superb all-around condition. Here are a few photos.

Here is a larger selection of photos of John's boat.

After seeing this boat and realizing it's only 4' longer than a 38, but seems like it's a LOT bigger, I became quite a fan of the SF and TF models.

In addition, anyone wanting to see more photos and specs on the 42, check out the following thread (again, thatnks to Bill Thomas for sharing so much info)
