Hello All,
I've been posting to this forum regarding engine "opportunities" on my commander. Now, I've left the hold long enough to begin some teak restoration. These are the cockpit stairs. First photo shows one set post-sanding, the other is pre-sanding. PO had gone with the natural look and subsequently neglegted the brightwork. She has a great 2 plank toe rail around the cockpit and a teak ladder to the flybridge. The neglected natural state makes restoration much easier than if the wood was covered with varnish. No stripping required.

Next photo shows both sets with the fist coat of varnish. 50% thinner:50% captains varnish I'll go 3:1 on the next coat. I'll keep you posted on the toe-rail.
