The Labor Day festivities at Cedar Creek Yacht Club were a blast. The 14-piece band was spectacular. The food was good, weather cooperated, and we got some boating in too.
Here are a few shots showing what it's like at a private yacht club out in the rolling countryside of Tennessee.
The warmup. The band is just getting set up, while the caterer is being set up for dinner.
This view gives an idea of how Cedar Creek Yacht Club is sited. Very nice location on Old Hickory Lake. It was the Cedar Creek Hunting and Fishing Club prior to 1953, but when TVA came in and flooded the valley, they lost a lot of their land but they suddenly found themselves on waterfront property. Thus, the name changed to Cedar Creek Yacht Club, and the old photos on the walls show some spectacular Chris Craft boats, some of which were built in Chattanooga and made their way downriver on the Tennessee and upriver on the Cumberland to this special
location. There's an open air chapel just off to the left, where we had a really nice Sunday service facing the water. Saturday night, however, it was time to BOOGIE !!
And Boogie we did.............into the wee hours of the night!!
In Nashville (Music City, USA) there are a lot of studio musicians, lots of entertainers, and as a result, the bands are some of the top of the line to be found anywhere.
