Yesterday we took our boat downtown and anchored it just offshore from the site of the upcoming Portland Blues Festival. We had about 10 knot winds, and it was quite a process trying to get anchored cross-ways to the wind -- we put out 5 anchors, plus tied one line to a friend's floating dock:
The festival will begin this coming weekend and run through the 4th of July. We are about 175 feet from the stages, where there will be 150 separate acts in 5 days. Our weather is great (will be in the 80's), and we will ferry a bunch of people on and off the boat using Jim's runabout. Should be a lot of fun. We will spend a few nights aboard for the first time.
