.........or should I say, "in his own elememt"!
There's not much I'd rather be doing than spending quality time at a great boat show! Here's a photo Janet took, she said when I walked on the docks I lost all touch with reality, wouldn't listen to anything she said. It's true!
These are the gentlemen I was working with on Saturday, and it was my pleasure to associate with people of this quality. Far right, Norm Wangard; center, Jim Wangard. Together, they photograph, edit, print, produce, and own the best boating magazine in the business, "CLASSIC BOATING". The quality surpasses National Geographic, in my opinion, and these are the guys who make it happen.
Norm Wangard, left; happy photo boat driver for a day, right!
Happy boat driver doing his job, and loving every second. We had scores of boats scheduled on 10-minute intervals doing close in flybys, and I'm here to tell you, there's nothing like it!
My job was to assist with the photo shoot for the second year in a row. As the photo boat driver, I got a front row seat, and of course I took my little digital camera. I'm going to share "some" of the action photos I took here, but out of respect for the reason I was on that boat in the first place, I don't intend to "scoop" what Norm and Jim are doing professionally for their magazine. I may hold some of the photos until after I see them published in CLASSIC BOATING.
Here's how the photos of CLASSIC BOATING are obtained. It was a cold wind at sunrise, and after 4-1/2 hours of straight work, we called it a day and came back in for a bite to eat. During this time Norm and Jim were on their feet the entire time working every shot. There must have been over a thousand images shot, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the "PROFESSIONAL" images they got with their superior equipment.
and now........................on with the show!
Here are four happy antique and classic boat fans!

From left to right, Ann Matheson, Life Member and former President of the Antique and Classic Boat Society; Ingrid Scherb; Janet Pletcher; and Sarah Gould. These gals know the antique and classic boat scene, and between the four of them, have around 30 boats to play with. That Donzi in the background for instance, belongs to the Gould family (of Ontario) and Murray was in the process of getting it a new home in a nice neighborhood Nice twin engine Donzi, by the way, for someone who just couldn't live without one.
