The better throttle position for cold starts is about 1500 rpm. You can find this position by bringing engine up to 1500 WHEN FULLY WARMED and then turning off the engine . A good ignition system will not hurt either for improved cold start . Everybody SHOULD be using LOW RESISTANCE SPIRAL CORE DESIGN plug wires by now . This WILL help your cold start issues . The lower the ohms rating /ft the more zap you will have when starting .
