I have an old ford motor it came out of an old boat.it has three dues carbs. the air cleaner says 400 hp marauder. numbers on block are 86y;1, 5751091 head numbers are 84k, 0063. I dont know what it is, can someone help please.

it had been setting 15 years so im going to take it to the mach. shop and see if they can bore it.I honed it and they all cleaned up good but one.the crank and pistons look good as well as the heads. im going to rebuild it and give it to my father as he is a big ford fan. I would appretiate any help i can get as far as getting rebuild parts and info Thanks.

you are stoked, that is a VERY desirable motor. Just so you know, this one uses a different size cam than the newer MELs, has a different valve seat angle than any other year MEL and the early '58 motors had some casting flaws. heres a post I left about rebuilds
