I am parting out a 1966 Comet Caliente. No drivetrain. (see Ebay item 4637438435 for over 100 pictures of car)Please do not call the phone number listed in the Ebay
auction as I purchase the car from the Ebay seller. Please send an email with your needs. Thanks! Steve
what are you looking to get for the r/s quarter panel..i mostly need from the wheel back. what else will be left of the car..? what else is still forsale? console. buckets?
John, It been raining very hard here in CT so I heven't had the chance to inspect the rear quarter carefully. I will do that this week end and check under the quarter and inside the trunk. I don't want to waste your time if its filled with bondo. The car was quickly painted white and everything looks good from 20 feet away. Please see the ebay auction referred to in my original posting for over 100 pictures of the car being parted out. As of today only the drive train, heater and controls and wiper/washer system have been removed. Steve
went through all the pics..its a shame i missed that one.. from philly no less.. i'm just right over the bridge from there in new jersey. i would have picked that up myself.. would have been a nice bracket car.. well check out the quarter and let me know.. might be interested in both fenders if there is no rot or bondo in them.. mine are not that bad, but good back ups would never hurt.. also i need the stainless trim around the back window,,how are the tail lights? did you drive down to pick it up.. if so how long of a trip was it.. since i would have to drive up there myself. well check it all out and e mail me a price on the stuff.. thanks..
John, I towed the car to my home in Danbury. It took less than three hours from PA. You really should look at the car, it will be a shame to part it out. The car is complete and the frame is straight and rust free. I purchased it to swap the 390/C6 with the 289/C4 in my 1966 convert. My 289/C4 has less than 100,000 miles on it and I might consider sell it with the car as a package. Steve
well still waiting to hear if your parting or selling as a whole? right now my main interest is the r/s quarter and rear window trim, if your parting it. i'm getting ready to move soon and dont really have room for another project.
John, Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I was away for a few days. I don't think the rear quarter is worth the time it would take to remove it. There is a lot more Bondo on it then I originally thought. You are more than welcome to come up and take a look for yourself. The rear window trim is all there. Free of dents and in good shape. You are the first of three individuals to ask about these pieces. Is it common for them to come loose? I can't see how they would ordinarily get damaged. Anyway, let me know your best offer. Steve.
well where is most of the bondo located on the quarter..mine is bad from behind the wheel to the the bumper. and to about 8 inches up from the bottom, and the trim, i had something fall on the car, and damage the trim..if you could snap a few photos of the quarter panel and send them to me.. from the other photos it didnt look bad..price wise i always hate to make an offer, cause i just lowball and wait for the real asking price anyway..lol if you want e mail me your phone number and a good time to call.. i'm normally home by 6 at nights, or can call anytime during the day..
still waiting to know how much for the rear window trim, and waiting to find out how bad the r/s quarter was. most of all would be the rear section behind the wheel to the bumper, and up to the body line, i'll get over to mine this weekend and see if there is anything else i may need..
Rob, Both fenders are still on the parts car. Both sides have minor dings and scratches. No holes or major rust. Where are you located? If you are near it would be worth a look. Steve.
