Hi Joe.I dont have anything to help you out,but I'll share my experience.Went down this road before on a 66 Comet.I used a reproduction Mustang outer wheel tub and modified it by replacing it in sections. After 2 evenings of cutting, tacking, welding, grinding, fabbing, etc.,it turned out presentable looking, and serves its purpose, but obviously not original looking on the inside. If I was to do it over on another 66-67 Fairlane/Comet,I would try (of all things,I know...,but just a suggestion) a reproduction outer wheel tub for a 66-67 chevelle. It has a flatter wheel radius at its top, similar to our cars.I'm sure it would be a time saver over the previous route that I took. The main benefit to using something reproduced is theres good metal to work with. |
